Product Description

Our abdominal support band is wonderfully soft and gentle on the skin and is designed to reduce pressure and tension in the abdominal and pelvic regions. Perfect after abdominal surgery as it helps to reduce any strain felt by the lower abdominal muscles whilst they are recovering. Comfort, support and confidence are the primary objectives for the tummy support band, which is uniquely designed for discreet and comfortable support of your back and tummy.

It comes in either black or white and a range of sizes, so there should be one to suit everyone. They are made from 91% Polyamide and 9% Elastan and are washable at 40 degrees.

Tummy Support Bands come in the following sizes in Black or White:

  • UK 8-10 – (36/38)
  • UK 10-12 – (38/40)
  • UK 14-16 – (42/44)
  • UK 18-20 – (46/48)

They are shaped to take account of a swollen tummy, so our recommendation is to get your normal panty size.

Please note: For hygiene reasons we are unable to exchange or refund this product, so please make sure you order the correct size, you can do this by using a tape measure. If you are between sizes or are ’small’ for your size, you may wish to purchase the next size down so that you get the support you need.

  1. a godsend

Posted by lynn on 21st Sep 2011

Have just received my stomach support belt. Not sure best how to wear it as stitches still tender. But my walking is painless and more natural. Have ordered the pants as well. A godsend thank you

  2. Sizing issue

Posted by Unknown on 22nd Jun 2011

I am a 14 so ordered 14-16 in the band and also the support panties. Both are far too big. I am only 5' so the support pants seem to reach my neck and the tummy band rolls at both ends! Have to fold them. Expensive for me as not a good buy and hardly used either product. Sizing should be looked at as I am sure the product would be good.

  3. Lovely and Soft

Posted by Caroline on 28th Apr 2011

I bought a couple of items from the online shop – the tummy band and the support panties – they’re lovely and soft so they don’t irritate the scar area. The tummy band makes an amazing difference, it reduces that feeling of downwards pressure and allows you to walk more naturally – I find it removes the impulse to clutch at my tummy with my hands and reduces the feeling of soreness and pulling on the stitches when I move. I don’t wear it “unfurled” as the website shows it, but double it over so that it’s giving snug pressure around the lower tummy.

My order reached me in two working days. I did go looking for a similar product in the high street chemists and couldn’t find anything like this!

  4. was a godsend but had to wear with support pants

Posted by Bizzieb on 13th Apr 2011

hi i bought a 14-16 as am a 14 but ended up getting a 10-12 in the end.
I had a vertical incision and was unable to put it on myself for at least 4 weeks, but ptnr helped daily. The other problem I found was that it rolled up, hubby bought me some Sloggi control pants - maxi and I now put the band on and the pants over the top. I am 6 weeks post op and am trying to only wear it when I am going out as I dont want to weaken my muscles.
But its a fab idea and would defo recommend.

  5. need a size bigger

Posted by Joanne on 11th Feb 2011

being a size 18 I ordered a size medium after reading the review of the size 20 lady. Its too small as it cuts in on my hips so I would have been better with a large as not comfortable to sit in.

  6. Brilliant hysterectomy underwear

Posted by Sandra on 17th Jan 2011

Ready about the importance of wearing firm support after the operation . I took two types of underwear into hospital M&S lg briefs and these . I found this underwear supported my stomach better, I walked taller and didn't feel the need use my hands to cradle my tummy area . I am a size 20 but ordered the size medium very generous sizes. Linda extremely helpful

  7. Very comfy - size hints

Posted by kaytie on 21st Aug 2010

Ordered 2 bands as I am usually a 16-18, but the sizes are 14-16 or 18-20. Just wanted to say that the 18-20 is far too loose, the other one fits comfortably. The material is soft and it supports my tummy in a very soft way. Great for the early weeks after surgery, but maybe a bit too loose once the swelling goes down? Glad I got it. Delivery was really quick, 3 days after ordering by first class post, thanks Linda.

  8. Fab product - but which way round?

Posted by rozzyrasp on 1st Jun 2010

Hiya, I have received my abdominal band today, and it looks great but can you please tell me which way up it should be worn? i.e. there is a plain end and a ribbed end - which way up should the ribbed end be? I am presuming it should be worn with the ribbed end over the abdomen but is this correct?

  9. good and not so good

Posted by Unknown on 7th Apr 2010

Tends to roll up when you sit down
But If you get it in the right place and pop your trousers on top, success.
Better than support pants which cut across belly button lap incision.
It may come into it's own when I go back to work...

  10. Try it!! I

Posted by Diane on 4th Apr 2010

I bought this at my 2 weeks post-op stage. I was aware the swelling and what felt like a ton weight in my middle was making me hold my abdomen each time I moved. I bought the band to relieve this feeling. It has, but I had to adapt it to work for me! I felt better rolling it over so that I had the top and bottom elasticated areas just under my scar. My family have all noticed I no longer hold onto my abdomen and I look more comfortable. Try it!!
